We are what we always were in Salem, but now the little children are jangling the keys of the kingdom, and common vengeance writes the law.
And so the scene is set for Arthur Miller’s searing American masterpiece in which the Salem witch trials of 1692, play out as an allegory for any number of misguided witch hunts through the ages. Written in 1953, The Crucible remains a play for our time and for all time.
Directed by John Gancar (1776, The Little Foxes), this production features many Fall Festival veterans.
